Digital Learning Platform
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This year we will be using digital learning platforms. The learning platforms will be chosen carefully by the teacher and are free and secure learning networks for teachers, students, and schools. They provide a safe way for us to connect, share content, access homework, participate in discussions and receive class information. The digital learning platforms are accessible online using a desktop or laptop computer. Students will also be able to access some of them with their mobile device.
The digital learning platforms will not be used as a social network site like Facebook or MySpace. The tools will be used strictly for educational purposes and under the guidance and direction of the teacher. The following guidelines will be used:
- Students will follow the School’s Acceptable Use Policy when on the digital learning platforms
- Students will be required to use appropriate grammar instead of texting language
- The digital learning platforms does not allow private student-to-student messaging
- The sites will be used to discuss school-related content only
- No put-downs or sarcasm toward another’s ideas
- All school rules and consequences related to student code of conduct apply
I look forward to a great year as we continue to incorporate the use of technology into our classroom curriculum. If you have any questions about the use of these digital learning platforms, please contact me.
